Pues sí, señoras y señores. Vengo ahora mismo de la Escuela, de hacer un examen oral en alemán, y me he encontrado con todo el percal. Ya salía de la Escuela, cuando la directora me reconoce después de hablar con ella el día anterior y me pregunta si le puedo ayudar a colocar los diseños presentados para crear la imagen de la Escuela. No sólo acepto, sino que estoy realmente extasiada por ver al fin las propuestas presentadas.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen. I come straight from the School, after taking a German oral exam, and I have crossed my way with all teh issue. I was almost at the gate, when the head teacher recognizes me after having talked to her the day before and she asks me to help her to place the designs submited to create the image of the School. Not only accept I, but I also am excited for seeing at last the proposals.
Extrañada por mi reacción, la directora me pregunta si es que he presentado algún diseño. Afirmo y ella enmudece temporalmente. Cuando le digo cuál es mi diseño, palidece y comienza a hablar dubitativamente mientras comienza a excusar al jurado y a explicar que entre ellos no se encontraba ningún profesional. Sabe perfectamente porqué la estoy ayudando.
Surprised because of my reaction, teh head teacher asks me if I have submited any design. I assert and she falls temporarily silent. When I tell her which one is mine, she turns pale and starts talking doubtful while explaining that there wasn't any professional among the jury. She knows why I am helping her.
No estoy culpando a ningún miembro del jurado por la resolución del concurso, sino que pienso que me lo tengo "merecido" por presentarme a concursos en los que ninguno de los jurados tiene el más mínimo conocimiento profesional sobre el tema.
I am not blaming any of the members of the jury because of the resolution of the contest, but I think I 'deserve' it for appling to contests where no one of the members of the jury has any professional knowledge about the issue.
La pregunta es: en un concurso en el que se han propuesto doce diseños, de entre los cuales podríamos salvar tres (incluyendo el mío), sabiendo que el ganador (ganadora, en este caso) ha obtenido 9 puntos y que yo, con un quinto puesto, tengo 1 único punto ¿creéis que merezco la humillación frente a gente que mezcla los colores de forma aleatoria? ¿Cuál es vuestra opinión? Por favor, escribid comentarios acerca de ello.
The question is: in a contest where twelve designs have been submited, among which only three of them could be saved from fire (included mine), knowing the the winner (a girl, in this case) has obtained 9 points and tha I, in the fifth place, have only 1 point, do you think I deserve the humilliation by people who mix the different colours in a random way? Soy consciente de que al no mostrar las imágenes de los demás, no podéis hacer las comparaciones. Pero contadme lo que pensáis. Adjunto el texto explicativo que acompañaba a mi diseño.

"El diseño que aquí presento responde a los requerimientos expuestos para ser la imagen representativa de la Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de Pinto, por las características que a continuación explico: / The design that I show here answers to the necessities required for being the representative image of the Official Languages School in Pinto, that I explain:
Tres colores únicos, a los que se les une el blanco como no-color para formar el diseño completo. Cada uno de estos colores representa uno de los idiomas que se enseñan en la Escuela. Se trata de colores muy sencillos y reconocibles tanto para aplicaciones sobre papel como en pantalla. En el sistema CMYK: / Only three colours, to which joins also the white as no-colour to make a whole design. Each one of them represents one of the languages teached in the School.They are simple and recongnizeable colours, for the applications on paper and on screen. It is the CMYK system:
- el azul se compone de / blue is composed by C 100% M 0% Y 0% K 0%
- el negro / black C 0% M 0% Y 0% K 100%
- el rojo / red C 0% M 100% Y 100% K 0%
Además, los tres colores empleados más el blanco del papel, aparecen en las banderas de los países cuyos idiomas se aprenden en la Escuela. / Moreover, the three colors plus the white are present in the different flags of the countries from which languages are learnt in the School.
Así mismo, al fondo de la imagen se puede ver la silueta de uno de los símbolos más representativos de Pinto, la torre de Éboli. / Therefor, on the background we can see the silhouette of one of the most popular simbols of Pinto, Eboli's tower.
Por todo ello y por la eficiencia del diseño en las distintas representaciones del mismo, resulta adecuado como imagen corporativa de la E.O.I. de Pinto. / For all these reasons and for the efficiency of the design in its different versions, it is adequate as corporative image for the O.L.S. in Pinto."
